In this variation of the round-robin story creation, the same writer starts and ends the story.
A benefit of this variation is that it encourages the original writer to give enough direction and orientation to the story in the beginning that it will be clearer and easier for him or her to complete later.
A disadvantage is that it can be frustrating for the original writer if the story has migrated too far or the characters have turned out too differently from the original vision.
